Today is System Administrator Day, so try and show a little appreciation toward your sysadmin.
Three Trolls in a Baggie have released The System Administrator Song. You are listening to it now, right? ;)
Oh, there are events from the past two weeks that need to be mentioned: I now appear to be project lead on the OpenNMS mapping effort. That should teach me not to write whitepapers.
Anyway, I'm quickly learning the fun of SVG and the pain that is playing with bleeding-edge libraries and specs (try getting Mozilla SVG support to do much of anything at the moment). If you have some talent with SVG or topology mapping in general, I'd like to pick your brain.
So, I have a new email address as a result: icblenke@opennms.org.
So... much... email...
Well, I went and did it. Not only was this month's Slashdot Meetup not a bad turnout, I ended up with a few pictures taken with my VAIO laptop's camera. They're low-res and grainy, but they're pictures (no cameras were present).
It's a good group of people, quite a few of which I already knew (and a number of which already knew me). Tampa is such a small town when it comes to tech.
Hopefully, I can use Steven Mann's Orbits project (hosted as Comparametric VideOrbits on SourceForge) to stitch the images into something useful. At some point, it might be wise to put PostNuke gallery on here as well.
Anyway, enjoy.
If you've ever had a run-in with Branden of the Debian "X strike force", you want to visit
.
Comical stuff. (ok, you might need to really know more about Branden and his attitude to "get it"). His "official motto" on his website is even better:
Again, comical stuff.
